When people think pasta they usually think Tomato sauce.  Tomatoes however are not indigenous to Europe, they were brought over from the New World by the Spanish and spread quickly throughout Europe.  By the end of the 1800's tomatoes became comment in Italian cooking.  Tomato sauce was first mention in 1778 in Italy but wasn't initially used on pasta.  The original tomato sauce was cooked in with just salt and bay leaves.  Creative Affair is perfect for seasoning your tomato sauce.

  • 450-500g of your favourite pasta

  • 2 tsp Creative Affair

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes

  • Olive oil

  • 1/2 lb browned meat

  • Salt and pepper  

1) Brown meat in sauce pan and drain excess  fat, set aside.

2) Heat oil over medium heat and add crushed tomatoes.

3) Lower to simmer and cover, cook for 1/2 hour.

4) Add Creative Affair and meat, cover and simmer for 1 hr. stir regularly.

5) Add salt and pepper to taste and add additional Creative Affair if needed.

6) Turn off heat and let stand.

7) Cook pasta and drain water and add tomato sauce.

8) Serve meat as an side or mix into the pasta.
