What is Focaccia?
Focaccia is not Pizza, it is bread.  It's 2000 year history begins in Italy where this bread derived it name from the Latin word for hearth.  Focaccia is also known as Vegetarian pizza in Canada.

Focaccia bread is light and flavourful and that is why  it is growing in popularity in North America.  Creative Affair will help make Focaccia bread quick and easy.

Creative Affair makes a great focaccia topping or Vegetarian pizza.

Focaccia/Vegetarian Pizza:

  • 1 Pizza dough (500 g)
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 3 heaping tsp. Creative Affair
  • salt to taste
  1. *Pre-heat oven to 450°
  2. In a small bowl combine Oil with Creative Affair and set aside, this will be your focaccia topping
  3. Stretch out your pizza dough onto pizza tray
  4. Spread the Creative mixture over the pizza dough
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the pizza dough
  6. Bake at 450° for approximate 20 minutes or until focaccia is golden brown

Note:

For ease of stretching make sure the dough is at room temperature.  Also stretch a little at a time.  If dough pulls back after stretching let it rest for a few minutes before stretching again. This will ensure that your focaccia has an even thickness.

*Every oven is different and temperatures vary as much as 50 ° .  Please check your foccacia after 15 minutes to make sure it doesn't over cook.
